Reckoning First Look Preview

One of the big draws for wow gold the recent EA Spring Showcase event in London last week was Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Up until now, we had only seen a handful of screenshots and a cinematic trailer, so we were incredibly interested to see how this game would actually look in motion. The organizing committee recently announced that the Jake Song, one the four godfathers in Korea’s game industry and Father of Lineage, has been invited to be the first keynote speaker of CGDC. He will be the first top Korean game producer who comes to China to give a technical speech. He has chosen “The Development and Evolution of MMORPG” as the topic of his speech.

Going into Creative Director Mark Nelson’s showcase presentation, we had a good deal of background info, but were still not at all www.alipac.us/www.flywowgold.com sure about what to expect. Reckoning is the first whole title from Big Huge Games since Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends back in 2006; the once acclaimed PC real-time strategy developer was salvaged at the brink of closure by a retired major league baseball star of all people.  Jake Song, one of the first-generation developers in the Korean game industry, is known for his works Lineage. In Korea, he enjoys equal popularity with top game producers including Hak Kyu Kim, Father of RO, and he is regarded as one of the four godfathers in the Korean online game industry.  In recent years, he barely presented any new works. However, his latest MMORPG ArcheAge aroused high attention once it was launched. According to Jake Song, he spent 3 years playing WOW. He was shocked by the success of the game, and he decided to create a game as a “fightback,” hence the ArcheAge.

Since the establishment of the first MMORPG, the developers have been improving the game tactics and technical aspects of the games during a decade. However, what challenges us now is how to continue and develop the genres and styles of MMORPG.  The approach to combat will involve different strategies depending on your derived class. If you’re specced as a tank barbarian, you can rush head-first into the thick of it and hack away, whereas with a rogue-spec you would want to take a more calculated approach -- using the game’s (visually cued) stealth mechanic and backstabbing your enemies. All classes shown however, were afforded the same kind of visceral and kinetically satisfying combat, even mage classes get to show off their moves when it comes time to finish an opponent, with showers of arterial blood spray for all.
